Progress

Doug and I have been making a lot of progress planning the completion of his house. We have decided to use a product that I have done a bunch of research on over the past couple of years. It is an insulated concrete panel system that is going to give their living space the benefit of being insulated from the heat transfer that normally occurs in a “tibique” (ti-bee-kay) or brick home. The tibique home is a typical construction used throughout much of Mexico and it is very hot. We hope with this technique we can make the Coult’s home more bearable during the extremely hot summers to give them some refuge.
So this was the master plan before we left, go down and help plan the projects the Coult’s have going so that we can help accomplish their vision. Here is the really cool part, Sarah, Doug and Rebecca’s oldest, has been working on orchestrating a mission trip for some people through a program called, “Do Hard Things”. This program targets young adults and attempts to put them in situations where their faith can be expanded. So they are raising money to pay for and complete the remaining structure of the Coult’s home. They are coming in January for a little over a week and we hope that with some added local labor we can finish the concrete structure. This is over simplifying it, because it will probably take at least a month of full time work just to prepare the structure to make the mission team’s work effective.
You may have noticed that I said “We”. Well Doug has asked if I could come back with the team in January and possibly meet them in Tucson travel with them down here. We would then be able to implement the plan that Doug and I are working on now. The team is raising enough support to pay for their trip but also contribute enough funds (we think) to finish the main structure. Now mind you, this would not finish the Coult’s house, there would still be all kinds of things to be purchased and finished but this would be a big chunk of the work. When we return to the States I hope to outline where support is needed to finish this project and possibly others so please pray for the team and their work.

I love the picture!
Micah – in his element!
Just love reading your updates! Want you to know I am praying for all of you and miss you lots! Keep up the good work, I am sure the Coults are really encouraged by your presence there.
